California Permits One Month Extension in Select Counties affected by Winter Storms

The California State Board of Equalization (SBE) and Employment Development Department (EDD) announced a plan to give emergency tax relief to businesses and citizens in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino , San Francisco, and Siskiyou Counties.  The SBE will permit a one month extension to file sales and use taxes without any additional fees. Florida Proposes Sales Tax Holiday

Florida Governor Crist is proposing a 10-day Back-To-School sales tax holiday on clothing under $100 and school supplies under $10, as part of a tax relief measure on the state budget.

House committee Endorsed Proposal to Increase New Mexico’s tax

A House committee endorsed legislation that would raise the state sales tax rate by one half percent to 5.5 percent. The tax rate will decrease annually until it reaches its original rate of 5 percent starting in July 2014.
