A new tax policy called “Act to Implement Tax Relief and Tax Reform,” could result in a 5 percent sales tax this spring.  If approved, personal property services including carwashing, dry cleaning, and pet grooming will all be charged the 5 percent sales tax.

As of 8 November 2009 Missouri is now imposing a 4 percent sales tax on yoga and Pilates class fees.  The tax stems from an existing statute imposed on amusement, entertainment or recreation, including athletic events.

The South Carolina Department of Revenue has anounced that it will be holding a Sales Tax Holiday exempting sales of handguns, rifles and shotguns from tax occuring from November 27th to the 28th.
